Jolly Bay Farm’s Open Farm Days are a different proposition from the big Panhandle fall farms, and the price tells you how different. Five dollars a head buys pumpkins, farm animals, a kids craft, a vendor market and food trucks for a couple of hours on an October weekend. That is roughly a third of what the big attraction farms further west in the Panhandle charge, and it comes with a proportionally shorter list of things to do.
For families with small children, the cheap ticket is the feature rather than a compromise. The worst outcome at a $20 family outing that goes wrong after twenty minutes is a $20 loss. The same collapse at a $65 farm feels considerably worse, and the pressure to salvage the visit is exactly what turns a fun morning into an argument in a parking field.
The first is the calendar. What we have describes the 2025 season — every Saturday and Sunday in October, 10am to 4pm, $5 per person. The farm had not posted 2026 dates when we last checked, and a small operation running off a Facebook page can change its plans late. Look at the page the week before, not the month before.
The second is the address, and this one matters more. Our record has 238 Fluffy Landing Road, but at least one regional parenting site lists the farm at a different address on Sunset Trail. On rural Walton County roads that is not a small discrepancy — it is the difference between arriving at 10am and arriving at 11 in a car full of unhappy children. Confirm the address with the farm directly rather than trusting any single listing, this one included.
A vendor market and food trucks mean this functions partly as a small community market with a farm attached, which suits some visitors better than others. Bring cash; independent vendors are less reliably card-enabled than farms are.
And the usual Florida caveat applies with no exceptions: the state’s climate cannot support a commercial fall pumpkin crop, so pumpkins here were trucked in and arranged, as they are everywhere else in Florida. At $5 that is nothing to complain about — you are paying for a morning on a farm, not for the harvest.
Open Farm Days ran 10am to 4pm on October weekends last season, so the 10am opening is the one to take. A six-hour window in a Panhandle October means the back half is the hot half, and a small farm with a vendor market has limited shade. The 2026 dates had not been posted when we last checked.
An hour to ninety minutes. Pumpkins, farm animals, a kids craft, a vendor market and food trucks is a short, pleasant visit rather than a day out — and at $5 a head, it does not need to be more than that.
You want attractions. There is no corn maze, hayride or ride list here; it is a small farm opening its gates, and a family expecting a full agritourism day will be back in the car in an hour.
