Our take

Bobola Farm & Florist is a small, dual-purpose operation: a year-round garden center and florist shop with an October harvest event tacked on. The farm market runs Monday through Saturday 8am to 5pm year-round. The pumpkin-patch experience—hayrides to the field, corn maze, and fall festival atmosphere—is specifically Saturdays in October, 10am to 4pm.

This is a Dover-area (Kent County) operation, positioned centrally in Delaware between the more-urban northern region (New Castle County, Wilmington area) and the more-rural southern farms (Sussex County). If you are in the Dover area for other reasons—visiting family, working locally, or traveling through—this is a convenient option.

The Saturday constraint

This is not a flexible, daily-operation farm. If you need a weekday visit or an off-Saturday date in October, this is not the place. If Saturday mornings fit your calendar and you can commit to October, it works as a straightforward local option. The Saturday-only model is common among smaller operations that rely on volunteer help or limited staff; it is a practical constraint, not a surprise.

The Saturday 10am–4pm window is a genuine six-hour window (no split days or reduced hours), which is helpful if you want an unhurried morning start. However, late Saturday afternoon (after 2pm) will likely be busier than mid-morning.

No online pricing

The farm does not publish admission, hayride, or pumpkin costs online. The lack of transparency is frustrating for advance planning. How are pumpkins priced—per pound, per pumpkin, or per admission? Does the admission include corn-maze access, or is that separate? Can you call ahead to confirm operating dates within October if you want to plan in advance?

The farm market context

The same location sells pumpkins in the shop year-round at (presumably) a different price than field picking. If you are visiting the farm for other reasons—buying fall flowers or mums for planting—a Saturday in October also gives you the option to add pumpkin picking to the trip. Many households use a single stop to check both retail and u-pick options, so knowing both pricing structures is useful.

Facilities and infrastructure

Porta-potties are available on-site, which is useful for a field operation with limited restroom infrastructure. However, facility specifics—how many potties, their distance from the field, shade structures, parking details—are not published. Ask during your phone call: Are there restrooms near the hayride starting point? Is parking adjacent to the field, or do you walk to it? Are there shade areas or covered pavilions?

The region experiences genuine Mid-Atlantic fall weather, similar to Maryland or southern New Jersey. Expect damp mornings in late October, afternoon temperatures in the 50s–60s, and potential rain.
