Oakhurst Farm sits on Highway 219 just outside West Point, close enough to the Alabama line that its catchment is really the Columbus-LaGrange-Auburn triangle rather than any one town. For October 2026 the schedule is simple: every Saturday and Sunday, plus a Monday on Oct 12 and a Special Needs Day on Tuesday Oct 13.
The activity list is the reason to come. Fifteen distinct things are named, and they are well spread across ages rather than clustered at one end — a 4-acre corn maze and a separate kiddie maze, a hayride, a petting zoo, a kiddie train, a lookout tower, a duck slide, rubber duck races, a hay jump, tube slides, a pedal car track, a jump pad, flower gardens, pumpkin picking and an open-air market. Very few patches of this size carry both a real maze and a genuine toddler track.
It does not tell you what time it opens, and it does not tell you what it costs. That is not a small gap. A family driving 45 minutes with small children needs to know whether they are arriving for a 9am opening or a 1pm one, and a family of four needs a number to plan against. Both of those are a phone call away and neither is on the website, so make the call rather than assuming.
Unlike the deep-south-Georgia patches, West Point gets real fall. October daytime temperatures here are pleasant rather than punishing, mornings are cool, and the flower gardens are still doing something for the first half of the month. That takes the usual “go at opening to beat the heat” advice off the table and replaces it with a different one: go early to beat the crowd, because with only about ten operating days the weekends carry everything.
The Special Needs Day on Oct 13 deserves a specific mention. Dedicated quiet days are rare at farms this size, and if anyone in your group finds a packed Saturday overwhelming, that Tuesday is worth rearranging a week for.
