Rough cost for a family of four: about $80.00 in admission alone at the posted starting rate, before pumpkins, food, parking or any add-on listed above. Most families end up well north of that once they are through the gate.
Liberty Ridge advertises more than fifty attractions and the list backs it up: a 10-acre cornfield maze, pumpkin picking, pig races, pumpkin cannon shows, live shows, farm animals, jumping pillows, pedal karts, slides, games, gem mining, train rides and food vendors. The first is easy. Admission is $20 booked online and $25 at the gate, which is a $5-a-head penalty for turning up unprepared — $20 across a family of four, for nothing. Book ahead.
The second is the one you cannot see. The Adventure Card adds ten punch vouchers for premium experiences such as gem mining and train rides, and its price is not published anywhere we read. That is a meaningful hole in the budget, because at farms structured this way the punch card is usually where a $80 day turns into a $140 one. Find the number before you arrive with children who have already seen the gem mining tent.
The discounts, by contrast, are unusually good. Ten dollars off for a grandparent accompanying a paid child admission is a large concession, and the same $10 applies to active and retired military with valid ID. Neither is automatic — bring the ID, and say so at the window.
At $20 a head this is not an expensive farm for what it offers, but it is priced for a long day. A family that arrives at 3pm, walks the pumpkin field and leaves at 4.30pm has paid full price for a fraction of the property. If your day cannot accommodate four hours, a cheaper farm will serve you better.
One scheduling caveat applies to any show-based farm. Pig races, pumpkin cannon demonstrations and live shows run to a timetable, and no timetable is published on the pages we read. If a particular show is the reason a child agreed to the trip, ask for the day’s running order at the gate and build the afternoon around it rather than hoping to stumble into it.
Every date runs 10am to 6pm except October 31 and November 1, which close at 5pm. Those are precisely the dates people treat casually — Halloween itself, and the bonus final Sunday — and an hour is a lot to lose when you have driven out on the assumption of a 6pm close. A season running to November 1 is at the long end for a northern farm, and the last fortnight is a different climate from the first. The corn is real, the maze is cut into a real crop, and both are subject to the weather that ends the season. Ground that has taken a few October soakings does not dry out, so wear boots you can hose down.
The daylight point is worth repeating because it catches people every year: a 6pm close in mid-September is a bright evening, and a 5pm close on November 1 is nearly dark. Same farm, same ticket, very different last hour.
