It means there is a version of this visit that does not depend on the festival calendar at all: drive over on a weekday, look at the animals, buy ice cream, buy something from the market, go home. No ticket, no gate, no risk that the date you picked turned out not to be an event day. With small children who will not last three hours anyway, that is often the better trip regardless.
It also means the fall attractions here sit inside something real rather than being staged on top of it.
