Geography is the argument for this one. Oceanside is about as far west as a fall festival with a corn maze gets on Long Island, which puts it within reach of an enormous number of people who would otherwise be looking at a long drive out to Suffolk County or up into the Hudson Valley. For a family in western Nassau or the western boroughs, that is the difference between an afternoon and an expedition.
What is on the list, according to a 2026 Long Island guide, is pumpkin picking, pumpkin painting, gem mining, a corn maze, a spooky walk, a petting zoo and a dino dig. That is a broader spread than most nursery festivals manage, and the petting zoo and corn maze in particular are things you do not normally get this close to the city.
